How to text a YouTube video using an iPhone
The easiest way to text a YouTube video is to do it right from your phone's Messages app.
1. Open the Messages app and select the person or group message that you'd like to send the video to.
2. Tap the message field to expand the keyboard and then slide the bar of icons underneath the message field to the left until you see the YouTube logo. If for some reason you don't see the apps menu bar, tap the icon that looks like a circle with an "A" in it to the left of the message field.
3. Tap the YouTube icon.
4. Search YouTube by tapping the "Search" bar at the top of the screen and typing in your keywords or scroll through your recently viewed videos. Once you find the the video that you want to send in a text or iMessage, simply tap it.
- Note, that if you use this method the person you send the video to must also have the YouTube app on their phone to watch the video you sent them.
You can alternatively share a video using the YouTube app, and the person you share the video with doesn't have to have the YouTube app on their phone to watch it.
1. Open the YouTube app and find the video that you'd like to share.
2. Simply tap the "Share" button below the video and then select "Messages" from the pop-up.
3. Enter the contact name of who you'd like to text the video to. You can also use the "Share" button to copy the video's URL and then paste it into a text.
How to text a YouTube video using a Mac
Finally, if your phone and computer are paired, open up the Messages app on your Mac computer.
Locate the YouTube video that you'd like to share and simply copy the URL from the top of the window and then paste the URL into your message, then send away.
